Art on the Lawn showcases a wide range of local and regional artists working in painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, fiber arts, and mixed media. In addition to the juried art show, Art on the Lawn offers a full festival experience for all ages. Visitors can enjoy live music, a variety of food trucks, and a beer and wine tent, while families can take part in hands-on activities designed to spark creativity in children. This year’s kids’ activities include a community canvas where children are invited to paint freely, face painting, bounce houses, a treasure hunt, and other fun and creative activities. Music is always a highlight of Art on the Lawn. This year, we’re excited to feature four  local bands: Sherwood’s Gift, Phase 2, and Fescue on Saturday, and Kinnfolk performing on Sunday. There will also be three local food trucks serving up delicious food: Southern Belle, Smoking Good BBQ, and Just J’Licious. 

Art on the Lawn is more than just an art show—it’s a beloved tradition of creativity, community, and local culture. Whether you’re interested in collecting art, immersing yourself in Danville’s local art scene, enjoying live local music and food, or giving your kids a chance to explore hands-on activities, there’s something for everyone.

Since 2022 Baltimore bass clarinetist Todd Marcus and Toronto clarinetist Virginia MacDonald have been performing and touring together across the United States and Canada with their quintet.  Their work together presents a lush ensemble that showcases the range of beauty and power by the clarinet in a modern jazz context, with repertoire comprised of original compositions by both bandleaders.

They have performed at jazz festivals and prominent venues internationally including Smalls Jazz Club, the Toronto Jazz Festival, the International Clarinet Association and the Baltimore Museum of Art.
 
Baltimore bass clarinetist, composer, and arranger Todd Marcus is one of the few jazz artists worldwide to focus exclusively on use of the bass clarinet as a solo instrument. While most uses of bass clarinet in jazz typically lean towards avant-garde and free-music styles, Marcus’ playing presents the instrument with a modern straight-ahead jazz approach. His music swings hard with both fiery and introspective intensity but also maintains a strong lyrical sensibility. Marcus has presented music for 15 years and along the way received accolades including a Jazz Hero Award from the Jazz Journalists Association in 2017,  an NPR pick for one of the top 10 jazz albums of 2012, and a JazzTimes pick for one of the top 40 albums of 2015. Born and raised in the northern New Jersey suburbs of New York City, the half-Egyptian Marcus began music at age six with early piano lessons and picked up clarinet at age 10. He moved to Baltimore to attend Loyola College.

We feature a huge Kid’s Zone with a barrel train ride, giant slide, kids zip line, giant jump pad, spider rope climber and many games. Kids of all ages can see tractors and our other farm equipment. Some attractions at extra charge. Have our face painter design a specialty to wear throughout the day. Find your next favorite treasure at Art in the Barn. Adults can enjoy live music with beer & wine on the terrace, and food trucks on-site. Plus, the closing Pumpkin Festival weekend features Sinkland's 3rd Annual Wine Festival on Nov 1st and 2nd.

Angels of Assisi Adoption Event - Sept 27, noon-3pm

Punkin' Chunkin' will be slinging pumpkins with their catapult on Saturday, Oct 11th and Sunday, Oct 12th.

Saturdays and Sundays always provide plenty of entertainment such as blacksmith and chainsaw demonstrations, watching pig races, A Capella groups from Va Tech, visits with the Scarecrow, PumpkinTron, Spiderman and the Fairytale Princess. The festival grounds include the area's most noted Arts & Crafts vendors and Pop-up Boutiques. You can enjoy Ride-a-Rescue horseback trail rides and pony rides (extra cost).

Michael Wayne Dill is a Nashville/JMA multi-award winning-independent country music singer/songwriter/artist currently living in the central Virginia area of the United States of America. Nestled in a home at the base of the great Blue Ridge Mountains, Michael finds plenty of nature to explore and get inspired to write about with his songwriting. He frequently plays acoustic shows of both his originals and covers at local restaurants, breweries, and wine vineyards within a hundred-mile vicinity of his home. When he is not performing, Michael spends time writing and recording music for himself and other local artists and friends in his small and modest recording studio at home.

Their son, Garrett Roberts completes the superbly gifted musical family with his smooth vocal tones.
     Their "out of the box" take on worship and gospel music paired with their God given ability to communicate the Good News takes audiences into the presence of God in a very powerful way.  They have performed for audiences in large theaters and for intimate settings in rural churches, festivals and fairs.
     A Westward Road concert leaves you uplifted by their message of hope and encouraged to live a life of trust in God.  Their new take on gospel music along with their smooth family harmonies and ability to lead God's people into His presence through worship will have audiences of all ages falling in love with this fun and energetic trio.
