Santa's Christmas Post Train will take families from the carpark behind County hall on a 30minute ride finishing at Santa's Post Office where children can send a letter to Santa. They will receive a gift from one of Santa's elves. Santa will make a Video Call from the North Pole to wish the Children a merry Christmas. Adults will not be left out as they will get a warming Hot Chocolate.

The game’s afoot! Join us for a gloriously funny makeover of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most celebrated Sherlock Holmes story. The Hound of the Baskervilles is given a comical twist in Steven Canny and John Nicholson's adaptation of  of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's best known  tale.

There can only be one Sherlock Holmes.... or can there?

When Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead on his estate, with a look of terror still etched on his face, and the paw prints of a gigantic hound beside his body, the great detective Sherlock Holmes is summoned from Baker Street to investigate the ancient curse of the Hound of the Baskervilles.

A barking mad spoof with a blend of madcap humour and at least one laugh per minute… bursting with imagination, intelligence and twinkling irreverence. 

Directed by Chris Taylor and performed by Kendal Community Theatre, this is an experience which shouldn't be missed!

At this half day course we will look at ways of thinking, taught in Kadampa Buddhism, that we can develop to help us to enjoy this time without feeling overwhelmed.  

 

Often it is our expectation of the festive time that can cause a build up of unpleasant feelings.  How can we let go of our expectations and still have a plan?  How can we deal with unpleasant feelings as they arise without them building up and consuming us?  How can we develop a good heart towards others when we find them challenging or when we will be on our own?

 

These questions and more are what we will look at on this course.  There will also be time for some questions and discussion together.

Whether you come to the course or not you are invited to come along at 1pm for a Christmas Get Together - Bring something vegetarian to share at a Potluck buffet
