Photographer Minor White famously said that one should photograph a thing for what it is—and for what else it is. His mystical photographs conjure up images of metaphysical realities of the mind, realities beyond what is in front of the camera.  Four artists: David Kalb, Marlo McClurg, Richard Halliburton and Keith Berger have put together a photography exhibit that Minor White would be proud of.

We are offering you, the viewer, a chance to comment on what YOU observe in our photos AND an opportunity to win a photograph of your choice from the 24 images on display.  Exhibit runs from Sept. 7 to Oct. 1 (Wed. to Sat. 12 – 5 pm).  Artist’s Reception, Sunday, September 18 2-5pm

The 2022 Solano County Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on October 22nd at Suisun City’s Harbor Plaza.  Registration begins at 8:30am, with opening ceremonies at 9;30am and the walk at 10:00. The Mare Island PedalFest is a family-friendly multi-pronged event dedicated to fans of all-things bike. From docent-led cycling tours on the historic naval base of Mare Island, to cyclocross races through the urban and park landscapes, to a bike swap featuring treasures new and old, there’s truly something for everyone. The event is free to attend and offers great “fan-viewing” of the races which start and finish waterside at the Mare Island Brewing Co.

Four cycling experiences available are:
1. Lap of the Shipyard - A family-friendly educational bike tour, ages 1-101 ($10 per adult, under 18 is free)
2. Kids Bike Rodeo - Kids only bike skills in enclosed area sponsored by Bike Vallejo, ages 3-12 (free event)
3. Urban Cyclo-cross races - Beginners to Advanced bike races - ages 6 and up ($20 - $50) - PedalFest is part of the Bay Area Super Prestige Cyclo-Cross Race Series.
4. New for 2022 - A Bike Swap! BUY. SELL. SWAP - Bikes, Clothes & Accessories.

Join us for fun, food, cars, trains and planes on Sat. Sept. 24th from 10am-4pm!  The Rowland Freedom Center will be hosting an exciting new event called Planes, Trains, & Automobiles where  real planes and model trains will be on display in the museum and there will be a car show outside the museum. The admission to the event is free, however donations are appreciated. Awards will be given to the winners of the car show (public vote). If you're interested in registering your car for the car show, please visit www.rowlandfreedomcenter.org or call 707-301-0905. Registration Fee per vehicle is $20.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles will feature full size aircraft and automobiles and model trains. Cars are needed for the Car Show part of the event. A $20 charge for registering your car in the event.
