Columbus Bonsai Society 50TH Annual Show
- Sat at 10:00AM - Sun at 5:00AM
- 7770 Jacksontown Road
The fascination of miniature trees will be celebrated when the Columbus Bonsai Society presents the 50th edition of their annual show.
The Bonsai Society is an educational and social organization for those interested in the classic Japanese form of horticulture, and presents a show each year as a means of educating the public about the art form. This Golden Jubilee edition of the event will be presented at Dawes Arboretum, in Newark Ohio. During the two day event club members will display many examples of the miniature trees they have patiently trained and nurtured. Trees will be in two categories: an open, noncompetitive class, and a judged, competitive. Mr Chase Rosade, a living legend in the American Bonsai community will be the special guest of the Society and will lead the judging. Demonstrations of bonsai care & styling techniques will be given at each day of the show. Presentations are open to all and suitable for all audiences-no special knowledge needed. Questions from the audience are welcome. Vendors will be on hand selling finished bonsai as well as plant material, tools and other supplies for bonsai work. Vendors will be leading workshops, so attendees may be able to take home an example of bonsai art they have created. Admission to Dawes Arboretum grounds does require a modest charge.. There is no additional cost for all bonsai events.
